All major league baseball teams show support and protect their players so they will complain when they feel a deserving player is not chosen to play in the All Star game. This year was no exception. Dusty Baker manager of the Reds complained that two of his players pitcher Johnny Cueto and infielders Brandon Phillips were left off the NL squad because they were involved in a brawl last year with the Cardinals. I think Dusty has a legitimate complaint since LaRussa NL manager this year holds grudges as evidence by all of his head hunting pitchers that played for him both at Oakland and later with the Cardinals.
